Folktale Week 2022

I am excited to once again be one of the co-hosts of Folktale Week. This is one of my favorite projects every year. This is our fifth year of doing this super fun Instagram Art Challenge and I look forward to next November, when we do it all again. Here are my illustrations for Folktale Week 2022.

I have always been a sucker for folktales, the darker the better. As kid, I was definitely one of those that loved to be scared. Could you imagine being a child in the 19th Century and reading a copy of Grimm’s Fairy tales? Imagine a place where witches, ghosts and goblins were out to get get you on every corner or walk in the woods? Does this sound like a fun place to you?

The last couple of years I had the opportunity to collaborate with a wonderful group of illustrators to create the annual Instagram challenge, #FolktaleWeek. Here are a few of my favorite illustrations from the challenge.
