Folktale The Pigeon's Bride Art Print

This portrait was inspired by the Yugoslavian Folktale, "The Pigeon's Bride". Where our heroine decides to hold off on all the suitors her parents are trying to force on her and wait for true love. While she waits, she notices a lovely pigeon that keeps visiting her and thinking there is just something about him. (Aaawwww, right but kinda weird) She finally confesses to her family her love for this mysterious bird, but then he disappears, she waits years for his return. Meanwhile, one of her servants hears about this cursed family(of which the Pigeon belongs) and finds the bird, returning him to our romantic girl. When they are finally reunited, the Curse is then lifted and he is a fabulous handsome man.

The original hand drawn and painted illustration was created by me (Debra Styer) with watercolor and gouache.

The print includes a lovely antique white mat ready to pop into a 8 x 10 frame.

The print will be shipped to you in a protective sleeve with extra backing in a sturdy flat mailing envelope.
