The Juniper Tree Art Print

Inspired by the dark folktale "The Juniper Tree by the Brothers Grimm.

The Juniper Tree is about a mother who makes a wish under a Juniper Tree to have a beautiful child. The wish works, but soon after her beautiful son is born, she gets sick and dies and is buried beneath the Juniper tree. The man remarries and soon blessed with a daughter. For some reason, the new wife hates her stepson. She actually hates him so much she kills him and makes him into a stew for the family. Disgusted, the daughter gathers up his bones and brings him to the Juniper Tree, where the Tree turns him into a beautiful bird and he flies away to freedom for his stepmother's hatred. He also manages to visit the town people and sing about his murder. Awww...sweet revenge.

The original hand drawn and painted illustration was created by me (Debra Styer) with watercolor and gouache.

This includes a antique white mat for easy framing into a 8x10 frame.

The print will be shipped to you in a protective sleeve with extra backing in a sturdy flat mailing envelope.
