Title: Her Melancholy

This painting was inspired by the beauty of Victorian nature studies and my deep love of 19th Century portraits. The lovely Miss Rose loves watching all the blue butterflies flutter around her and float around her amongst the pretty flowers. It is one of small things that make her happy. But "Her Melancholy" remains deep within her even when she does her favorite things.

Don't we all feel just a little bit of darkness even in light?
