How the Stars Came into the Sky, Navajo Folktale Art Print (6x8)Trickster Coyote Portait

$24.00
How the Stars Came into the Sky Art print.

This illustration was inspired by the Navajo folktale, "How the Stars Came Into the Sky". The First Woman was in charge of adding jewels (stars) to the sky. She carefully planned out the layout of the stars so they would tell the stories and laws of her people. The Coyote (that trickster), came over to help and added a few stars to the sky just as the women had asked. He quickly got annoyed by how long it was taking and he grabbed the Woman's bag of stars and flung it haphazardly into the sky making a bit of mess. the Woman cried knowing she couldn't fix what Coyote did. It's a fun thing to think about, especially when you look at the Milky Way. Bad... Coyote...bad.

The original hand drawn and painted illustration was created by me (Debra Styer) with watercolor and gouache.

The print includes a lovely antique white mat ready to pop into a 8 x 10 frame.

The print will be shipped to you in a protective sleeve with extra backing in a sturdy flat mailing envelope.

All prints are signed and numbered.
