Title: Waiting with the Ashes

The Edwardian Lady in a dress of ashes ready to strike a match or blow it out. What will she do?

I was inspired to paint my portrait for the FIRE element because I live so incredibly close to the fires in California and the constant reminder of the power and harshness of fire and the hopeless of stopping it.


The original illustration was created by me (Debra Styer) with watercolor and gouache.
