Edgar Allan Poe Art Print.

19th Century writer Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849) introduced me to the beauty of gothic horror stories. I remember discovering his stories and being spellbound by his spooky sense of the world when I was a child. His twists and turns seem so contemporary to me even though his spooky stories were written over 200 years ago. Poe is my literary hero and I am so happy to paint his portrait.

Here's my illustrated ode to the most gothic of writers, Mr. Edgar Allan Poe and his friend/foe, the Raven and his "Nevermore". See how the Raven sits on the Writers' shoulder as a warning.

The original hand drawn and painted illustration was created by me (Debra Styer) with watercolor and gouache paint.
